  • Ah, yes, a great word, and of relatively recent vintage. There's a ST:NG episode where a virus or something like causes all the crew members to devolve into what they *would* have been back in eons past. What a stupid idea! I think Troi turns into a fish or amphibean critter. Worf, devolving into a primodorial Klingon lifeform, is actually really frightening. Data, of course, does not devolve into a 4-function calculator and manages to save the day. Go Data!

  • You forgot that Riker turns Neanderthal, but of course as it's difficult to tell the difference, it's reasonable that you would forget.

  • RYC: Thanks for the kind words and for reading my blog!  By the way, the other commenter was joking about that whole, "true flock of God" crack.

Sonnetjoy, I saw that TNG as well.  Troi does turn into an aquatic life form as Betazoids 'evolved' from such things.

  • Data always saves the day. I just watched a ST:NG episode where they flew into a blablasomething rift and all energy was being zapped by the rift so they couldn't get the thing into reverse. For some reason they couldn't get REM sleep either so they all went nuts. Data saved the day again.

I wish they hadn't killed Data.Anyway, I am now going to go to a trekkies anonymous meeting as I've clearly had a relapse.

  • @thekingofnonomia - Oh dang, I remember that episode, and if I think on it for very long at all, I'll even remember the title. This is the one where Troi kept dreaming about the element which needed to be sent out into space in order to free themselves from the rift?

  • @sonnetjoy - Yes it is. How sad that you remember that! LOL!! I do have favorite episodes I am sorry to admit. 'Cause an effect' was the title of one I particularly liked, I actually learned a life lesson from that episode. It's where Picard is killed by a phaser blast and Q gives him a chance to go back and correct 'mistakes' he made in life on the proviso that he would then return him to the place in time where he died. When he did Picard was a lowly science officer running errands and playing it safe all the time. It taught me to always just go for it. I try to do that as much as possible.

  • @thekingofnonomia - I remember that one, too! Wow, my own nerdiness is humbling me.

  • Hi Daddy! I love you!
